Newborn nearly lost hand after Lekki hospital opposed to baby formula insisted on feeding him intravenously
A father has disclosed that a Lekki hospital almost caused his newborn son to lose his hand.
He said the hospital is opposed to baby formula and, when his wife could not produce any milk after birth, they insisted on feeding the baby intravenously (through the veins).
However, the needle inserted to feed him through his vein caused him to suffer an abscess that soon turned purple and then black.
A photo shared by the child’s father shows the damage done to the newborn’s hand.
The father said he almost sued the hospital. Thankfully, another hospital in Lekki saved the baby’s hand.
