I Am Chosen Phrase Should Not Be Associated With The Body Of Christ -Patrick Doyle.

Ace Nollywood actor, Patrick Doyle, has criticised the trending phrase “I am a Chosen”, commonly chanted by The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries’ members.

The actor’s comments come in response to a social media controversy surrounding viral testimonies from a church. Doyle took to Facebook to label the trending phrase “nonsensical,” asserting that it is not a part of Christian doctrine.

He stated that the phrase “I am a Chosen,” used by members of the sect known as ‘Chosen,’ should not be associated with the Body of Christ. According to him, the members do not focus on Jesus when using this phrase; instead, their adoration is directed at their general overseer. He emphasized that the phrase fails to mention or honor Jesus and suggested that linking it to giving glory to Christ undermines the faith.

Content creators and bloggers using the phrase are not mocking the Church of God, but rather targeting the sect and its founder. Recently, actor IK Ogbonna urged the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to address the issue of “fake miracles” in churches. Other celebrities, including actress Kemi Lala Akindoju, have also criticized the church’s doctrine in relation to the trending phrase.

In response to the “I am a Chosen” controversy, CAN condemned a viral testimony from a congregant who claimed that “an angel” provided answers during her examination.
