Tinubu Swears In Kekere Ekun As New CJN, She Becomes The Second Woman To Hold The Position
President Bola Tinubu has officially sworn in Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the 23rd Chief Justice of Nigeria, with her formal confirmation still pending before the Senate. Justice Kekere-Ekun took the oath of office and signed the official register at 11:40 a.m. on Friday at the Council Chamber in the State House, Abuja. She succeeds Ariwoola, who retired on Thursday upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 70, having started his term on June 27, 2022.
